A Guide to Creating Clarity and Joy for 2025!

Reset and Create Intentions For The New Year

I’ve been hearing a lot about what’s “unshakeable” and “unbreakable” coming in 2025.

If, at this point in mid-January, you don’t have a goal or you have not been inspired or motivated to start the goal you have set, it’s all okay. Listen to your body. Sometimes, we all need a reset. If you have been feeling burnt out from 2024 and your body needs rest, then allow yourself to take the rest.

While both your mind and body may be processing, nothing will be clear until we allow ourselves to be – and accepting where we are right in this moment is the perfect place to start.

I am certain to say that what you choose to do and commit to doing is always going to be unbreakable and unshakeable. As every second passes, we enter a new moment. Every step we take brings us a new experience, and every experience is a new development in life.

Even if you choose to do nothing and lie on the couch all day, it’s still a second passed. With each passing second, your blood is still flowing. It may not be at the speed you like it to be. Each cell in the body is still doing its own thing, rolling along, repairing, renewing, and regenerating at a snail’s pace. Note that nothing is stopped!

If you think this is a setback, it’s not. Instead, it’s a reset. Resets are powerful. They allow you to step back, slow down, and reflect. Resets help you reconnect with yourself and the world. Often, we are on the go so much that we have lost connection with the world. We may forget to slow down — to take the time to connect with the people we love.

We are often consumed by the bucket list we strive to check off, which takes us out of focus and neglects all the things that are most important to us. What ends up happening is that we are then chasing after that bucket list or that to-do list!

Often, you only feel complete if the whole bucket list is checked off, and even then, you may not feel complete until you feel the need to share this information with the world. After that, you may still not feel complete because you may have gained a sense of significance, but now you may be left with the feeling of “Now what?”

This whole situation then becomes a chase, as you feel the need to make up a whole new bucket list and may feel the need to make it more challenging than the previous bucket list.

Making up a new bucket list never ends, and no wonder you get more and more tired after so many bucket lists. I can’t imagine you making one bucket list after another and continually striving to check it off. Good grief! I feel overwhelmed by simply talking about bucket lists.

What if you could do both—connect with what matters most to you while still focusing on checking off your bucket list without feeling like you’re chasing it?

Reset and create new intentions. Rather than setting goals, set intentions.

Do you want more love in your life?

Do you want more joy in doing your daily chores?

Do you want to connect more with family, friends, and coworkers?

Or do you want to connect more with your work itself?

Do you want to have more clarity, focus, or inner peace?

All of the above desires are examples of intentions. You may choose how you want to create and set your intentions. Intentions can be in the form of words, maps, or pictures.

What is the difference between setting goals and intentions? There are more options and more freedom when setting intentions.

To be clear, setting goals works well for some people.

However, setting goals may not have worked for many because they are so specific that they can feel somewhat restricting.

Also, because we expect to accomplish our goals, we may feel disappointed when we don’t, even if we tell ourselves to be realistic when setting goals.

What causes the restricting feeling about setting goals may stem from our judgment and comparison. If we don’t set goals high enough, we feel we are not being challenged or think we are not good enough. On the other hand, if we set those goals too high, we may never reach them, and we would still think we are not good enough. In other words, nothing ever feels enough!

When we explore what setting intentions actually look like, we begin to visualize, which is the first step in taking ourselves on the journey of achieving those intentions set.

It is a friendlier and softer approach to confidently taking the next small step. Visualizing what we want evokes clarity and creates joy, helping us get excited about our day to fulfill those intentions.

When possible, journal those visualizations. By journaling, you can write, draw, or paint. Choose the method that feels good to you.
